I need a heavy duty right front spring.

Thinking like 300 to 350#.

The SHO spring is 6.06" id.. but I can't find any racing springs that size ?

any reason you dont use intrax or eibach? Or are those not really good for all out racing?

intrax or eibach dont get near 300 or 350 (150-260 lbs/in), plus they are progressive which isn't ideal for track work.
Can you run coil overs at the track? Probably easier and cheaper to find the right springs.

I went to the Intrax website, and they only had one set of springs for the Taurus.. it looked more like a lowering set then a performance set ?

At Eibach, they also only list one set, with no real information about them.

I called Moog, they said they didn't have any springs for the Taurus outside the stock springs.

I can't believe folks don't have the part number for a good set of high rate springs for the Taurus.

You have to remember that most people are not going to need that degree of spring... Not to mention the aftermarket for these cars is not all that great to begin with. You add those two together... and well, you get the picture.

I suppose you can't run some type of spring "helper" ?

Oh, BTW, there is a spring chart on the forum somewhere... I'll try and find it. Eric (Shoaz) probably has it bookmarked. :thumb:

EDIT: here it is- http://www.panix.com/~awinbow/sho/suspension.html

Another issue that I just thought of.. With that high of a spring rate wouldn't you have problems with the strut? (not being able to keep up with the spring rate)

EDIT2: You know, I really think some Moog CC's would be a decent choice to go with. They look stock (black), are progressive, and their cheap... I am alittle bias'd though...
On a side note, I once had a buddy tell me some stuff about race car suspensions. He said, that while the car is driving down the straights it seems to "search" as if it does not know which way to turn... not that the car is all over the road, but that the car just feels too loose... But once you put the car into a corner, it just sits, tucks, and turns. Now, im not comparing my car to a full blown race car, but when he said that, the first thing that popped into my head was... "hey, that's what my car does"... I'll tell you what, the more you push those Moogs the more they want to push back... granted that IS what a progressive spring is supposed to do, but man i'll tell ya.. these love doing it.
Just thought i'd throw that out there...
