Quick T-belt Gear Question.

Quick question... did small search, but to no avial.
Can one use a gear from an MTX on an ATX?

Could not find any ATX's at the JY today. A buddy has a slight case of crank cancer. We have had a temporary fix on it for some time now, but i hate tempting fate.

The timing belt pulley on the crank should be the same between the 3.0 and the 3.2.

I don't recall ever coming across any mention otherwise.

Thats what i was thinking... but i couldnt remember if the T-belts were different between trans models.

The timing belt may be the same, but the alignment mark for the crank is one tooth off between 3.0 and 3.2 Cam gears marks are the same, but the crank is one tooth off.

I dont know why though. The only external differences I know about are the timing belt tensioner setup. But that should not make any difference.

It's due to the idler pulley present in the ATX timing belt configuration.
