Does anyone know the RMS wattage of the stock jbl sub in a SHO? Mine has bit the dust and I'm looking for a replacement until I do a full audio system upgrade.

I believe the stock sub amp puts out about 80 watts (RMS), but don't quote me on that. You could probably pick up a cheapy 6.5 (or 8 if you don't mind removing the box and doing a little cutting) to hold you over for a while.

Yeah I'm probably going to go with a 8". They are a lot cheaper from what I've seen. I just want to get one as close to stock RMS without going under or too far above so I don't run into problems before I get the money to put together a real system.

Does anyone have any specs on it at all or just estimates?

What kind of modifications did you do for your polk sub?
If the price isn't too steep I might just do some minor modification now.
