That is normal on the sho's! They have small gaskets in the valve covers that tend to leak over time! You can either have them replaced or just pull you plugs every now and then and it will drain the plug wells!

Um, pulling a plug out from an oil filled plug well will dump the oil into the cylinder. If you do that to all the plugs that are filled with oil, probably all of them, thats not a good thing. Oil in the cylinder is not good. Clean the wells out by either sucking the oil out some how, or shoving a paper towel down there and letting it soak up the oil.

Again, more oild in the cylinder than what gets by the rings is a bad thing.

Oil from the plug well draining in the cyl. will not harm anything. If there is dirt, sand or other in the plug well then its not good. I blow out a wet well and then put brake cleaner in and blow it out again thoroughly. Only then would I pull a plug. I would'nt consider doing the plugs if I new oil was leaking in the wells without being prepared to pull the intake, valvecovers, Claening them up & resealing and while a guy is in there at least checking the valve clearence.

As mentioned, you need new plug well seals. These are the seals go between the top of the plug wells and the valve covers. Fel-Pro has a kit that includes the plug well seals along with the valve cover gaskets. If you choose to change said seals and gaskets, be careful when removing and installing the torx head valve cover bolts, they like to strip.

You can also use the trigger portion of a spray bottle to help get the liquid out of the plug wells. Stick the straw part down into the wells and then pump spray the crap into a container or some paper towels. A little brake cleaner or solvent sprayed into the wells beforehand helps to dilute the oil and makes it easier to remove.

And like someone else said, Use some feeler gauges while you have the valve covers off and check shim clearance to make sure you dont have one that is way off, also look for any odd wear on the cam lobes.

Worst that can happen is you'll foul out your plug wires which should be replaced anyways since they've got oil on them now.

A neat way I used when I clean my wells... I have a vacuum pump for HVAc, I got a vacuum canister from a hospital from my nurse sister in law (you know for suctioning stuff) and hooked it up to that for all the crap. Then took one of the hoses and put a section if 1/4" od copper tubing on it for the reach and to be able to get WAY down in there. Sucked it out, then sprayed the **** out of the hole with carb cleaner while suctioning. Worked great!

Ok, I say never, and i mean NEVER let the oil run into the cylinder, only asking for more problems. I did this on my first 60K, and low and behold then the o2 sensor went then the cats started to clog, in my experience I would never do it again. i used rags and a thin screw driver to get most of the oil, then take brake clean or carb cleaner and spary it down, then I use the good old blow gun to blow out the plug well, using a face shield too. That is my 2 cents
