So I have the carpet out of this new Gen 2 that I bought, and noticed in the center in the vacinity of where the rear seatbelt anchors are that there is a cable passing through the bottom of the floor. Pretty sure this is for the fuel pump (hard to believe that in 140 K miles of SHO ownership I have never replaced one)

Anyhow, on this new to me SHO I know its had the fuel pump replaced twice. Where the cable passes through the floor there is no rubber grommet present. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance

no, there should always be a rubber grommet around any location where the wiring runs through sheet metal.

The cable itself has a thick rubber coating on it, all the same I bet one of the fuel pump replacements resulted in the loss of this important part. Guess I have to fish the one out of the car I'm parting out.

Well, that was easy, the wire was passing through just to the passenger side of the seat back center support. Pulled the wire up and the grommet came into view and was able to reinstall. Its a little lose. will add some form a gasket or something
