This is a picture of my 98 csvt lower intake manifold(2.5 duratec v-6). Look at the discoloration of intake port 5(looks tan/white). Plug has heat blistering due to a lean condition. Also,I get a misfire code on 5 and it starts rough but then clears up. I was thinking bad injector. Thoughts?? I have a 93 sho that you guys help me with on a regular basis-the normal guys at the FCO forum are out until Monday-Let me know-

do a compression and leakdown test on that cylinder. im guessing you have a burnt intake valve, or you have a plug wire thats arcing to that cylinder and causing the plug to fire while the intake valve is still open

if the injector was bad that port would be totaly black from the egr, where as a nornal port is black w/ an area that the injector has washed down

Thanks-
Burnt valve sounds like it might be it. Leak test is good. This all happened after I cleaned the intake. I think I got trash in the valve(between the valve and the head) which has caused all my issues. I will have to pull the head and replace the valve-not a fun thing on a duratec
