Heater core really isn't that bad. It can be done by unbolting the dash and pulling the passenger side up, then unbolting and pulling the heater box out.

doesn't look lowered, mine sits like that, i could be wrong, but atleast now i know what a black hood will look like!! and last time i saw a jose shifter, it was bulging that boot pretty good, it may be a rodshifter with the cable shifter cover...if its sloppy, it could be a cable shifter cut down, only way to tell is under the car...look for cables, or 2 bars...i would buy it, if you have a couple of bucks to sink into it for a safe running car...

Just don't stick your fingers into any holes while lying on your back under the dash!

And while in there- replace the blend door actuator if it is EATC-equipped (it should be if it's a 90).

Great car- treat it well and it will treat you well!

It is a cable shifter, he just replaced all the cables along with the transmission. I think part of my issue with the shifter is that I have been driving my Jeep with a shifter directly into the tranny I got used to that. I drove my brother's Honda the other day and it was similar in feel but less effort needed to shift it. I do think this shifter is shortened in some way so that would contribute. The EATC is the electronic climate control unit? It has that, are the blend door actuators expensive to replace?

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum! I think it was easily worth $750, and it sounds like you got it for less, so even better! :thumb:

...you wont regrett it

Except while you're working on it, especially the heater core! :banghd:

I helped a friend replace his heater core and blend door about five years ago and that is a job I never want to repeat! I just keep my fingers crossed mine never goes out.

Enjoy the new car!

Oh I definitely got it for less. The idea of stripping out half the interior doesnt appeal to me a lot, but such is life.

I don't think so, but as soon as I get the car home I will look and get pictures on my camera instead of my phone.
