I have ordered my springs 1.5 drop in the front and 1 inch in the rear. The Question is Upper strut mounts for camber adjustment that work with the stock strut housings?? ( using the Joni inserts ) What do you guys use when using the inserts ????
Thanks for helping me out
Avery

My first time around the block I used a mount very similar to that .... They didn't last long ... The hole became avlong after time.
I was hoping to find a better mount
thanks Avery

Have heard from very good mechanic that the ajustable ones are very hard to get aligned and also do not hold alignment for a long time. Camber can be adjusted by drilling the spot welds but not sure how.

My problem was the bushings wore out much too quickly. You can get some adjustment with drilling the spot welds but not a whole lot. I had the Moog mounts, which are identical to the ingalls.

I had both these problems in the Focus.. I think tracking the car aided in the failure. They would slip out of adjustment very time it was tracked and the bushing didn't hold up.

So the best thing to do would be.... a adjustable strut mount for the stock ones. Most likely only need a Degree or 2 . Line drilling the upper mount holes to 10MM X 30MM forward ????

If it's a track car, a little negative camber is OK, better for high speed cornering and tires will last longer; for a street car the tires will just wear quicker. In my 240z track car, I slotted the three strut mounting holes a little fo adustment, but those cars weigh a lot less than a SHO too.

I was told the adjustable front mounts last longer than the stock mounts from a good source.

For the most part OE Parts are best ( best at overall performance and cost prior to production ) After a few runs they are checked by ford to meet spec.... Ford is very **** on spec and as I heard in the passed ....." This isn't ford tough ..!! " Some parts will become OEM parts for repair if there within the secondary spec tolerances but don't meet production spec.

ANYWAY.....

Looks like there not to much to pick from in strut mounts.
Thanks for the input guys
Avery

Look on Rockauto, there is another style of adjustable plate that is camber only (looks more robust), different from the ones pictured above. I've seen these plates on Specialty Products site as well.

Also, those are not the only adjustable front strut mounts SHOsource offers, they have much nicer ones but not sure if they are a coil over only type application.
