I was wondering what you guys use to remove that last bit of gasket material on the heads after the valve covers are taken off. I've used a razor blad in the past but this is akward and doesn't seem to work too well. I'm trying to find a better way of doing this. Anyone have any thoughts?

Other than the physical aforementioned gasket scraper, you can use acetone (they sell by the gallon at AutoZone) and Permatex has a gasket dissolving spray.

Molded rubber doesn't leave any residue on the heads. Someone must have used silicone on more than the required four spots. Bad.

Sears sells Gasket Scrapers, or you can just use what I use, a putty knife. I put it on the grinder to get a nice sharp edge that won't scrath the machined surface, and it works pretty well.
