There is a hard continuous rubbing sound coming from the front/right suspension area. The noise has been there for about a month and has gotten increasingly louder and the vibration can be felt through the accel. pedal. It's not the rotors or out of balance tire. You hear the noise and vibration after about 30mph.

To make sure it wasn't the tire, I put the SHO spare on and drove it. The noise and vibration slightly went away, but I'll conclude that the tire isn't the culprit.

The sound and vibration goes completely away if I even ever so slightly turn the wheels to the left. Turning the tires to the right doesn't seem to make a difference in hearing the sound.

Parts replaced on that side within the last month are: outer tie rod end, stab. bar link, and lower ball joint. But, the noise seemed to be there before these replacements. Wheel bearing?

A mechanic said the strut plate was loose while doing some other work, and I was wondering if this could cause vibration and the hard rubbing sound? He also said that I had a shifted steel belt in one of my tires, but I didn't ask which tire!

So, what would cause this vibration under driving, particularly when I turn the tires, even slightly to the left, which makes the rubbing sound and vibrations go away?

Help!

I was thinking wheel bearing also. But, I was like man, I just had that front/right wheel bearing done exactly one year ago this month. I also had the sway bar done on that same side one year ago also that I just replaced. There must be something not right going on, on my front/right suspension.
Will a bad motor mount cause any wear on suspension parts over time?Because I've been getting that mount replaced for a long long time and just haven't gotten it taken care of.

What should I do about the loose strut plate on that same side? There is always some rattling over bumps on that side. And when I go for an alignment, one time they said my aftermarket strut/spring makeup should have been lined up exactly where the initial strut/spring assembly was. Don't quite understand that, but I guess this make getting the truest alignment very difficult! Also, on that side, the middle bolt at the very top of the strut under the hood will not completely tighten, which is probably why I get the rattle!

So now, I pay more attention the wheel bearing on that side and at least eliminate that first!!! Thanks!!!

Out,
