question about valve cover gaskets

i put new ones on about 6 months ago and its leaking again,but at that time i didnt realize you have to put extra sealer on the ends can i reuse them or is it to late?

I don't think you'd have a problem re-using them. They should still be soft enough. I'd at least try that before spending the $100 to get a new set.

Yes you can reuse them. And you can use old hard ones too if you first soften them up with some lacquer thinner followed by a rislone soak.

I had mine on for about 4 months and 3000 miles on them, and I made the same mistake. I followed the SHOPP 60K article with my existing gaskets and I have had no leaks since. These are the nicest valve cover gaskets I've ever used. Most of the other cars I've had use paper.
