While doing the front end tune-up, I went to remove the serp. tensioner. I removed the bolt, and pulled on it. It came off but I was wondering if there was suppose to be a little ****** on the back of it. Because it looks like I broke it off and is still in the PS bracket. Did I puck up?

Now for the timimg belt, Ive read just about all I can on this whole process and I see TB tensioners in vises being compressed for the allen wrench to go through, while mine is still on the block should I be able to compress it with the pulley, is mine junk? Also has anyone bought the TB component kit by Dayco? Does it have a tensioner?

Thank you

Yes, you broke the tensioner locating pin off. You will need to get a new tensioner so that you can attach it properly.

No, you will not be able to properly compress the tensioner while it is still attached to the motor. You will need to remove it, compress it, and reinstall it.

Those tensioners are not being manufactured and nobody has found a new source, so for now if yours works you are good to go.

You need a new Gates belt, it has the proper indexing marks.
