A few weeks ago I asked for advise concerning my Temp. gauge bouncing up and down. A few of you answered that I may have air in the coolant system. You were right. A flush and fluid change cleared the problem up. However, now the temp. gauge does not move above the L on the word NORMAL. In fact, I drove my car 130 miles today (all highway miles) at speeds averaging 70mhp and the temp gauge never moved above the L. I do have an oversized radiator but I don't know if that would cause the car to run that cold. Am I OK with this, or should I have the coolant system looked at again. Thanks alot. :salute:

Sounds normal to me, especially with it being winter time.

In stop and go traffic, does it raise into the NORMAL range?

Not very far. Never seen it go above the L even in city traffic.

Sounds like a thermostat issue. You may want to check it with a thermometer other than the cluster gauge first though.

I agree, and a thermostat is a cheap and easy fix if thats the problem. I have an a-pillar with the temp gauge and even thought those aren't 100% accurate, its been accurate at reading at the L when the engine is at operating temp at 180 degrees. Keep an eye on it in heavy traffic
