It is possible to make your own. You will need a larger butterfly plate.

But not with a dremel..... you need them to all be the same, and smooth or it will be worse than stock.

I made my own (kinda). I disassembled the butterflies and took them to a machine shop to get them bored to 40mm. THen I purchased 6 40mm carb plates from a weber carb (don't remember the exact model, but there is a write up on it). There is a guy from overseas that sells them cheap. Then I used a dremel to gring back the grooves in the shaft so the new plates would fit. I also used a dremel on the edge of the plates to fine tune the fit. I have heard of people using the original plates and grinding the stop on the shaft down to make them fit better. All in all I didn't save much $, but it was fun. Good luck

Do it right or dont do it.

Buy them BBBs.

You can do it right yourself, just pay attention to detail. You can retain the stock assembly by grinding the stop points (to account for the larger bore). I think this is how the old SHOShop units were made. Also you can shave a little materal from the throttle shaft (2-3mm) without compromising integrity. Good luck removing the stock screws. Once you get them out, remember to use tapered screws or if not, use locktite. Dont want anything flying around in there :)
