Hey guys, sorry for so many posts lately but I've been trying to decide what I was going to do about my tranny that just recently went out on me. Well my parents are making me take the car to AAMCO to get the work done because they're tired of letting me borrow their cars for work. AAMCO told me that to install my new clutch wouldn't cost any extra since they'd have to tear the tranny apart anyways. I was wondering, if I order a Quaife and the shim kit, how much do you think a shop like that might charge to install it? I don't know what the tranny looks like when it's apart, but I'm assuming the differential is right there and can fairly easily be removed. Beth (Bizzy) was explaining to me about drilling out the rivets (I'm assuming to remove the ring gear from the factory differential to put it on the Quaife). I know AAMCO is going to ream me in the price for all this labor, but I unfortunately don't have enough time to send the tranny off to someone else to have them do the work for me. Do you guys think they could charge all that much more to install the Quaife if they already have the tranny torn apart??
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
