pulling codes

This question has probably been asked 1000 times but does anyone have the link for "how to " pull codes where to put the wire- instructions i want to pull codes as the cel was on and am curious

ok so I have the wires hooked up correctly and it is surging the cel on in sequences I just can decrypt them. How do they work and what should i bee watching for I thought it gave you numbers that you relay to a chart

Please help

the fan will kick on and a 11 on the check engine, the codes will start spitting out all you have to count them out and they will repeat that's that!

this is what I pulled

Alright this is what i got 1-1-1 1-1-1 1-1-7 2-1-7 6-5-4 2-1-7 2-1-7 6-5-4 2

if i understand what the chart says
111 is system pass
117 is ECT indicated 254degF. Circuit grounded.
217 is Coil 3 primary circuit failure

654 i dont know if it even exists and what is the extra 2

hope this is right, and if so what can i do to fix these

that would make sense it was in neutral.

have any idea as to what the rest of them mean and is there any thing i should do about them.
