I brought my 2015 non pp into the Ford Dealers to get my PTU fluid changed. They told me they never do this bla bla bla. I said well guy on the phone when I made the appointment said you do. They took my car in and they came back and said there isn't a drain hole and they'd have to remove the torque converter etc and vacuumed drain it out like it's a major project. Then he said he checked the oil and it looked fine and my warranty covers it if it seizes up. I have 23k on it now. Think I should try another dealership?

Even if there's no drain plug, they can suck the oil out through the fill hole - which is where they checked it from :)

Have mine scheduled for Friday. They already knew that they'd have to vacuum the old stuff out. Keeping my fingers crossed that they do it right.

That's what I thought but then he started saying they'd have to remove the torque converter and something else.

The guy I made the appointment with said yeah sure we can do that. Said it would be like $130 and I said sure

Midtown Motors [my Dealer] told me to come back at 25k for 85.00 they said it gets thick and would rather have it replaced every 25k. What is the recommended type, and maybe have them replace with a amsoil brand equivalent. Mines a pp. I got 10k to go.

I believe that's the "official" way to replace the PTU fluid. Basically remove the PTU from the car, clean it, and then reassemble/fill. I would try to find a different dealership that would suck it out and then fill it (or do it yourself).

I had mine done at a BG products shop. They flushed it using the fill tube and by removing the plug on the side.
No Ford dealers would perform this service in my area.

About to go pick mine up after the service for PTU, RTU and transmission. They told me the fluid in the PTU was "pretty black" but still viscous. They vacuumed out the old and put in new. Said they were surprised how small the PTU is for the amount of power this car makes. Keeping my fingers crossed that they did it right.

Ok I was just told by a 2nd dealer that they do not service the PTU. It is a Sealed Unit and they also don't do it. Funny cause when I scheduled it they said they did.

AAMCO is a nationwide trans service chain. As with any individual shop, some can be good, some bad. Check reviews first.
Thanks for the advice. I'll look for a transmission service to do it. I think I do have AAMCO near Buffalo NY
