Good, gear oil smell is the worst.
It's bad, but the smell of your car when the under hood area is engulfed in flames, and it is starting to melt the tires, and you are standing on the side of the road powerless to do anything about it... far worse smell.

And if your block is made of magnesium, it's even wurst.

Thanks to the thread starter for reminding me to change my PTU fluid!
I had my PTU replaced about a year ago, just shy of 2k $$$. I've put about 10k miles on it since then, I'm sure it's time...

So much leaked out of mine, it was probably at least a half fluid change on the refill.

Mileage on the last tank (filled up 5 mnutes after picked up from dealer) was the best ever (24.8 MPG). Musta been that new oil in the PTU! Or mostly highway driving at 67 MPH, but hey either way, I'll take it.

Looks like I'm going to need to buy a fluid good suction thingy since I have no drain plug. (Right? non-pp 2015)
