I haven't been able to get a definite answer on the one used in the SHO. Some people say yes, this is compatible, others say no. Parts catalogs do about the same when cross referencing numbers and I've about given up with trying to talk with part stories (AutoZone, Advanced Auto, NAPA, etc..)

Anyways, the part in question is the Doorman 600-234.

Can somebody here confirm this or point me in the right direction?

Side note, this for a 2011 SHO w/PP if that makes any difference.

That's what I figured I'd have to do, but the local Ford Dealership is closed until Tuesday...and well, I'm impatient, haha

There are two P.T.U.s. that ford uses for our cars. A 2 and 3 axis unit. They are not interchangeable. The only difference on the 3 axis (this is what you have if you have a 6F50 or 55 trans) is whether it's liquid cooled or not. You don't have a cooler if its not a perf. Pack car.

2 axis is for 6f35 transmission.

If it says that part by vin, it' most Likely corect. Call another dealership to fact check.

3 different dealerships later and a few of their different techs, it was determined that the DT4Z-7251-G was the correct part.

So instead of keeping the car suspended in the air and digging into this any longer, I ordered that PTO.

Worse comes to worse it's the wrong one, they credit my account and send a different one.

I'll be sure to follow up with the results.

Also, the computer at the dealerships each tried noting that a $14xx valvebody was needed when replacing the PTO. However, when trying to view said valvebody, none of the dealerships were able to pull one up or any literature regarding it.

Best of luck, hope it is indeed the right part. Ford parts numbering has gotten ever more confusing the last year or so.

Valve body? Trying to sell you a transmission too? Strange.

Well, here is the aftermath of this issue. This is from my old 2011 SHO that I sold to my ex almost 2 years ago. The car has roughly 102,000 miles.

PTO totally scorched, at least a 6" crack leaking fluid (well, what was still thin enough to escape).

My mechanic (and good friend) was not too thrilled will the extra work needed. I think he stated only 2 or 3 of the nuts on the studs would actually let go. Had to torch out the studs (turbo), then drill and tap for new ones.

The correct PTO was the DT4Z.

Anyways, onto some of the carnage...and reason why when I take my 16' in for its 10,000 mile oil change, that I'm going to request the PTO fluid to be drained and changed.

It honestly amazes me Ford hasn't recalled the PTU on the early models with "lifetime" fluid and no drain plug.

They quietly added drain plugs to all AWD equipped 2015+ Edge vehicles. No scheduled maintenance instructions accompanying tho. Axle seal leaks continue to occur.
