PS Pressure hose

I had to replace the pressure hose for the power steering just a little while back due to a cut in the hose. All of a sudden now I have a leak in virtualy the same spot,passenger side somewhere that it causes smoke, and it has the same smell as the previous leak did when burning. This leak only seems to happen after I jump all over the throttle??? Does the pressure hose buil more pressure with engine RPM??? I think that maybe it could be the teflon seal at the pump??? power steering sensor??? (I saw this during the search!) Thanks in advance to all who help

Yes, the pump makes more pressure at higher rpm, but that shouldn't "cut" the hose. The most pressure is built up in the hose when the steering is held to full lock. That is not a good thing to do. High pressure should not result in a cut in a new hose. You may have a physical interference creating your situtation. Have you checked your motor mounts lately?

I replaced the high pressure hose on my car a few months ago. It had a pinhole leak up near the pump end of the hose. The teflon seals are very important for a good seal. The torque values on those seals are not very high. Too much twist and you can damage them. You need to find where the hose is leaking. If it is just the seal(s), you can replace them. If the hose is leaking, either it was a defective hose or you ahve a physical condition causing the cut.

The "cut" was due to abrasion on the original and now that the new one is installed, I get a high RPM leak???
