Even though I am new to the board, I can see where the wisdom lies. Some of the most interesting questions come to these forums, and usually within the top two responses is the inevitable reply from one of the masters....sdpatt is most common that I see.

I scratch my head when the posting SHO owner describes a horrific problem. "I have no friggin idea what is going on" I say...then scroll down and see the front end of a white 91 SHO signifying the response from the wise oracle of knowledge. The picture gives me the impression of a grandfather looking at his grandson....the police grill symbollic of an aged beard as he ponders the answer he is about to give. "This problem is a common one for Gen I SHO owners", the oracle responds...."You need to order part number ##### from this place or that.

As quickly as your problem appeared, it was cut to ribbons by the sword of the master from the Texas hills.

good job there Scott, keep the answers coming.

I could not agree more. Thank you Scott for sharing your great knowledge of these cars with the rest of us. Without folks like yourself passing the "SHOhow" on to the rest, this Forum would be a lame place to be.

From all of us at SHOForum...Thank you.

I am humbled by your appreciation. Thanks to all of you for your kind words. I, and I am sure many of you, would also like to thank Ford and Yamaha for creating the object of our motoring enthusiasm. You have to wonder if Ford could have foreseen the enthusiastic following that was engendered by their high performance version of a good family sedan.

The SHO has provided me with many joys and memorable moments. The race to the rowdy redline and the carving of challenging corners that must have incredulously asked, "That was a Taurus?" The SHO has supplied me with an equally generous share of mechanical challenge and electrical education. All of these pleasures and pains have added value and meaning to the ownership of this automobile. Experience is gained through experiencing.

Long live the SHO.

Your the man Scott! Thank you very much. On a side note, do you travel for 60K services? I need two more and there are a couple other sho's around that need some loving. I can offer housing, airfare, and a heated garage with lift.

TwiceSHOwn- He doesn't have on at his house. A buddy of his has one that he can use.

You can include my SHO on that list of SHOs in the Cleveland area that need the 60k finished. All I need is the valve lash (and plugs and wires, but that is simple enough that even a mechanical sloth like me can probably do it), although I'd like to get UDPs, a bigger MAF, and an LPM done while I'm throwing money around. I can help out with airfare, too, if you are considering flying, Scott.

There is another topic underway (Location of Backup Lamp Switch) that had mentioned a traveling road SHO tour. Here is what I responded in that thread.

"I originally suggested the rolling SHO maintenance tour in jest, but I will have to consider the possibility of making this a reality for the income potential in my unemployed condition. Who else in the Ohio area would be interested in the valve gapping or timing belt change services?"

I would have to drive to be able to bring my tools and such. I have family in Columbus (Dublin) and Hubbard, Ohio that I would also enjoy visiting while I am up there. The catch would be to convince my wife to let me go without her and our 10 month old child.

Hey Scott,

You don't happen to have relatives in Ontario, Canada that you want to visit too, do you???

I agree completely with all of the above posts, 'props' to you. (that does mean something good, doesn't it?). If so, then props to you.....props indeed. (sorry, I'm getting old)

Sincerely,
Mike

Hahaha...when we give you "props" it's like the younger kids way of saying you have our utmost respect, we look up to you. Another example is like if there is a car that looks really cool, we can give it props. It means we like it.

Scott, I don't think you would need many tools. My buddy has a shop with lift and access to almost any tool(he shares the garage with a MAC Tool supplier). You might only need some sho specialty tools. I have 2 shos in need, noSho, and I believe 93sshooo asked about someone to service his.

Unfortunately I am probably in the same "old school" class of folk as Scott being that I have a wife, 2 kids, a dog and a house with a white picket fence, two door sedan.....though I did level the fence when I saw myself falling into the burb's look then bought the sho (yea another sedan).

However, being that I am active in church ministry with youth, I hear all the language. Yes, Props is a good thing that does communicate respect among the young. I will take all the props a young person will give as it is not found often in this day and age. Im only 34, but anyone under 24 thinks that is old. Remember what the discovery channel says.....the young lions **** the old ones and take the pride for themselves when the older lions become weak and useless.

fear not scott, you have not lost your usefulness yet....not for awhile at least.

j/k

Keep up the good work and keep the SHO road trip in the works as I am in Michigan and would consider it an honor to attend if able.

BTW...what line of work are/were you in? You never know, someone might be able to do something about that.

michael
