Well after having suffered enough from not having enough headlamps I finally steped up and said enough. I thought about the harness from suv lights....but I just didn't think that it would still put out enough light for me. With that being said I ordered up a set of Morimoto mini D2S Projectors kit with 4300k bulbs. I will say this the kit came with everything that I could want. Now how bad is the installation, having never done one at all I did the install on my 99 SHO in all of about 3 1/2 hours. What I found out about the Taurus headlamp that is so cool when doing this retrofit is that on the back of the headlamp housing there are 4 screws, and if you take them out the housing comes apart. Once you do that ...take a hole saw and open up the headlamp bulb housing to meet the size of the threaded end of the projector, then drill the extra hole for the wiring to run through (high beam). Once that is done install shrouds ...angel eyes if you bought them ...then reinstall the lheadlamp lens and do the same thing with your second headlamp. After that run your harness and position your ballast then plug every thing in and then connect your power and ground and you are done. This is probably one of the best things I have bought for my SHO. For those interested send me an email and I will send you pics of the install and light output. Its worth the money people, trust me on this.

Considering I am 6 hours ahead of all of you since I am in germany.....I will get the pics up for you .....as I said with the way the SHO headlamps are this is an easy conversion and the diffrence in light output is well worth the diffrence. I will say that the shrouds that I went with (Gatling Gun) is a bit bigger than I really wanted, so I have a couple diffrent shrouds on the way with some diffrent style angel eyes so I can find which ones I like the best.

One of the pics is of another SHO owners car, but it shows the headlamp being split by removing the 4 screws on the back of the housing. The 2 small wires that you see laying accross the top of the lamp are for the shutter for the low/high beam mechanism. which remains functional using the bi-xenon retrofit.

Now what if I told you I did the complete deal for under 350.00. If you are not hung up on angel eyes that can save you some money and if you are a GEN 3 owner and don't have to buy butyl to reseal the lamps, you could get away for probably an even 300.00. I also started with a nice set of headlamps, so if you needed to buy new leses you would have to add that into the price also.

Can you take some pictures of the light output, and the cutoff of them in the gen 3 housing?

tried doing that tonight but couldn't get an actual feel for the light output.....will try again tomorrow night playing with it. The cut off is nice crisp and clean though, I will see if I can get one of the photographers at work can hook me up.

Those might be the best looking gen 3 (or **** any SHO / Taurus) HID jobs I've seen yet. I would even consider buying a set, that is the first set of HID's I've felt I would buy for a Taurus. I applaud you sir.

Thank you all for the comments. Like I said when I did the write up, it was probably the best thing I have ever done to my SHO so far (koni's are coming then the mtx swap). If people are interested let me know, maybe do a run on them.
