Hey guys. New to this site, owned an SHO for a few years. It came to my attention after a buddy drove my car that my secondaries were opening up.. way too early. You give the car the slightest bit of throttle and they are open. Upon further inspection, we concluded that it would be the EGR Vacuum (The black canister on the back of the plenum, told the name by a Ford Dealership, a nearby SHOwner told me its the Secondary SOlenoid  ) as the piece rattled. I recieved another one, threw it on and much to my dismay the problem persists. I replaced the EGR Valve and PFE sensor recently, but the problem was going on before this. Would anyone have any input as to the reason behind this problem?

The black canister on the back of the intake is there to hold a vacuum so that the secondaries dont open when you go full throttle. So more then likly the black canister is not holding a vacuum so i would replace it and go from there.

I would first get into your car and start it up and slowly open the throttle and have someone watch the secondaries so that you sould see when they open. If they open some were around 4000 RPM then every thing is ok. Also if your car has a computer chip in it that might couse it to open sooner.

They are in the intake manifold. They are in between the surge tanks (the bid pieces that say "24 VALVE DOHC" and the "FORD" logo) and the short, fat runners. There is a small electrical device next to the small round black plastic tank that is actually what closes the vacuum. Make sure the 2 wire plug is plugged into it and the vacuum lines are hooked to it. When I first bough my '90 the actuator was unplugged.
