Depends on what type of paint you use and what the condition of the car is.

I'd say for a good paintjob (not that Maaco BS), anywhere from $2K-5K.

Thinking about having mine done. I have a nice chunk of change coming my way and was just thinking of ways to burn it. I was thinking around 2500$. Maybe more cause I want all the door jams, inside of doors, engine compartment, around the trunk, etc done. I worry about the issue if I get the body clean then I won't drive the car anymore and thats what I love about the car, is the fact I drive it everyday and don't worry?

A proper paint job will most likely exceed the kbb value of the car by at least 2x

If you want something "factory" clean, your looking at 5k+

Lets put it this way: I spent $500 for just the paint for my '90. That was for the primer, base coat, clear coat, and all the reducers and hardeners.

If your wanting to do it right like kenny said... it costs alot.
any1 can mix paint together and spray it...
Most of the time is the prepping of the car, if its not prepped right... you'll see sanding marks after you've painted, and cleared the car...

If you want something that will look like trash, well cover up the chips and stuff, but who knows how long it will last... CHEAP!
with a paint job, the more you pay - USUALLY the better job it is.

believe it or not, if you have ANY knowledge of painting, you can just prep the car yourself, incl. primer then have maaco paint it. a large number of friends have done that and it comes out great

spend $100 and a weekend buffing your current car, park the $2500 in savings/retirement

a proper paint job will cost more than virtually any SHO is worth

Sometimes (some individuals) its not what the car is "worth" to everyone else but what its "worth" to me (them).

OK, as someone who does this for a living; I'll chime in on this. A lot stuff goes in to the final cost, such as any body work needed, stone chips and need to be filler, jambs, and refiting any panels. Then there is the detailing at the end.

It all depends onthe color you pic, how much work is needed to prep for paint, and how many hours flat rate is to paint your car.

2-3K minus jambs/ w minor scratches and dents. 4-5 with jambs.

P.S. If you have a scratch and u can feel it with your fingernail, it has to be repainted inorded for it to not show up on the next paint job. Stone chips also have to be filled, or they too will show up and look crappy.

3,400 two years ago to have my 91+ repainted at a reputable shop. I had quotes ranging from 3,000-5,200 to have the whole thing painted.

Keep in mind there were NO dents, NO big dings, NO rust, NO plastic problems, etc. just needed paint. I did not have the door jams painted since they were in perfect shape still and I was repainting the same color (black). Paint costs money contrary to popular belief.

Now what is my car worth?? Clean black/black 91+ with 116k??

probably on a good day what I paid for the paint job. That is why it ain't gonna get sold
