Thanks , the p/p on the 15 was 1500$ . I think its less because all 15 sho have 20in wheels . I know the sho on the wheels, the fabric on the steering wheel , its what I cant see that worries me if it is p/p

Lots of ways to tell.

- Look for T/C button in lower center console next to power shade button.
- Look for Goodyear F1 SuperCar tires. Non PP has Michelins.
- Look for alcantara on 50% of the steering wheel
- Look to see if you have a spare tire. PP cars have no spare, just a tire fix it flat kit.
- Look for cooling hardware in grille, driver side.

Brakes are just a different pad, won't be able to visually see that. Suspension only changes rear shocks, so hard to visually inspect.

Or........google this site......

researchmaniacs.com That is a site where you can enter the VIN and you can see a copy of the OEM WIndow sticker. If you purchased new the dealer should have left you a copy. If used or CPO then try that site.

The Fist part of the VIN is easy 1FAHP2X.....The X the model specific character X should be K so 1FAHP2KTXFGXXXXXX then the

1FA (Ford Motor Company Ford passenger vehicle)
H Restraint Category (Manual Seatbelts Front driver/passenger and side airbags.
P2X Taurus X is the specific model...SEL is H SHO K FWD is D/E/F AWD H/J/K
X Engine
9 Random generated check digit
10 Model year in 2010 the US started over with A -Z 2010-A 2015-F
11 Plant Should be G for Chicago (Assuming there is a 2016 Taurus and kept in
Chicago there could be a GG in the VIN
G Chicago G- 2016)

Owning a PP car, easiest is tires should be Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, NO spare tire, tire pump with can of fix it flat, and button under door by the shifter to turn off the nannies. '13+ will have aux cooler for trans and PTU, look at lower grille to see if the cooler is there, should run the length of the lower grille. Welcome to the club. Make sure the button is there to turn off TRAC and ADVANCE TRAC, couple owners have gotten PP cars, but button not there.

I checked the lower grill and there is a cooler there. What is it for? Is there an intercooler for the turbos ? does it run better on 91 or 93 octane gas ? Thanks

And if I'm not mistaken the absolute easiest way to tell is the wheels - the SHO's with PP get (In my opinion) the ugliest flower-looking 20" wheels! The non PP Sho's get 19" 5-spoke wheels, etc. I love my SHO with PP but the flower wheels are hideous! Anyone know a good company I can buy some new wheels from - I have a silver SHO so looking at black wheels, like a 5 or 7 spoke wheel.

I think the 20" 2013+ wheels are sweet. Whoever came up with flower to describe them doesn't know what a flower looks like...

But they are an option on non PP cars, so not an indicator.

Thank you all for your input . My question is more for the stuff I can't see . The 15 comes with 20s and the p/p is 1500$ so I was thinking there must be something not included that it is 500$ less or because it comes with 20s so there is not an upgrade to 20s included in the $$
