Anybody have any pics of a Powerdyne S/C on a SHO?

I would like to see some pics of the Supercharger installed and the complete system installed.

Please post them or send them to [email protected]

Thanks - Mike :sun:

Let me track down my password for my old SHO picture account, I have alot of pics of my setup before and after there. Basically I came across an old SS kit, and had to re-do the whole thing. The bracket was faulty- i hacked it, spaced it, cut it, just to prevent shredded belts. The piping I tossed, used aluminum and went across the upper radiator. Instead of originally- it went down across the very bottom and back up through the fender.

I sold the car to a guy from Utah with the kit installed. He ended up parting the car to build a new one, so I know he still has the bracket. Let me know if your interested in tracking it down, ill send you his info.

Powerdyne Setup ???

So does the tubing on a Powerdyne setup go out the fender well, around the front and back in the other side? Does all that extra tubing take away for the performance of the SuperCharger? I am not sure if I like that setup.

It does. Mainly throttle response from what I could tell. Naturally the least distance the air has to travel the more effecient it'll be. This was the main reason I ditched it. The new piping was almost half the length of the original, and the power difference was substantial.

Pressure is pressure. Power loss comes from restriction . Thats why I used 3" mandrel bent charge pipes all the way . Now my big ass intercooler thats a restriction but kinda needed.

huh.

I forgot that there were powerdynes mounted in front. I have a rear mounted, jack shafted setup. The shaft drive system presents some unique challenges, but it keeps the charge pipe nice and short and makes it easier to change belts and get at the front of the engine.

By that logic you might as well weld a 5" wide peice of pipe in place of your exaust.

Exaust is totally different scavaging , velocity and temperature . You will lose way more power from sharp bends and reductions in size than length of pipe.:)

The pic's so far posted are Vortec set ups.

Mike, Kurt Metro's car was a Powerdyne set up. If you can find any pic's with it's hood up. Kurt sold the call about a year or so ago.

The other SHOble owner. :salute:

Kurt's old car is and was a vortec setup. Atleast it was vortec when he sold it and is currently vortec powered now
