The pumps are the same, but the pullies are different. Changing a pulley is pretty easy.

Mike, is there any diff in dia or just the 6 rib ATX vs. the 4 rib MTX?

I can check later today, that is, if I can get through the door. I have just a "few" these in my shop.

On the ATX the shaft that holds the pulley stick out a bit more than the MTX one. FWIW I had a pump from a '90 in my '95 ATX for a while and it worked great. I'm actually replacing my pump today. I'm getting tired of the whine.

Isn't the pump on a 1995 Subaru Legacy the same or something like that? I remember reading that once upon a time.

The remanufactured pumps do not come with a pulley. That was not a fun job. My topic with pictures here.

THe ATX pully is is a different diameter. I see where you are going here. Maybe it could be used as a poor man's underdrive pulley???

Did not get a picture ( I am techno disabled when it comes to hosting a picture). Email me at the yahoo account and I will mail it directly.

I did take some measurements.

The offset of the ATX and MTX pulley are slightly different, but you should be able to shim the ATX to work with the MTX alignment.

I did not weigh them, but they felt similar (the MTX is smaller but much heavier machined steel, while the ATX is made out of lighter stamped steel)

The MTX diameter is close to 5.75" dia (tough to tell exactly where to measure the proper diameter)

The ATX diameter in the same location is about 6.5" dia. I do not know if it will physically fit in an MTX installation without hitting, but I can try it this weekend.

That help?
