A few weeks ago I was cleaning my SHO, so moved it closer to my door so I could get a vacume to it, well I noticed a slight jerking in my steering wheel and did'nt think much of if so I left it be for awhile, well a few days later I moved it again and the wheel was so hard to turn I asked Bizzy what was wrong, I told her that my fluid was grey, so she told me to flush it out with 5 quarts of power steering fluid, well I did and it was fine for a few days, now sometimes its even harder to turn and I here a whineing noise when I turn and move the car???? I don't know whats wrong with it, the fluid turned grey again? Plus when I put it in reverse there is a low pitch humming noise don't know what that is eather? Please someone help me, and if there is anybody in or around Detroit Michigan you could come and check it out, but at least someone give me some pointers.

Sorry noticed it was under Generations 1 & 2 - Performance Mods before I could fix it. I know this isn't a performance mod but please help.

i bet the noises you are getting are the powersteering pump with a few air bubbles/pockets going through since you flushed it. have the car idle, with the lid off of the p/s reservior, and crank the wheels left to right...dont hit the stops too hard...that is never good for the rack or pump. put the lid on, drive it a while, and then repeat idle while parked with lid off again. that should circulate the system pretty well.

my p/s fluid is black, i know i need to flush it all out and start fresh. it is also not uncommon for the VAPS (variable assist power steering)to act up on these old cars.
