After chasing a power loss between 3,000 to 4,000 RPM for some time on my ATX wagon, I finally got my power back after a thorough cleaning my MAF sensor. On recent cold mornings (20 degrees F) it was bucking for a short time when stone cold. I have previously sprayed MAF cleaner in the ports of the inside of aluminum housing thinking it will clean the MAF. Not until I took the sensor apart and sprayed the MAF cleaner 15 times did it do the trick. What a big difference. It smoothed out the idle, restored all the power and so far the milage appears to be better. Hopefully it cured the error codes 181 and 189 as well, I'll keep you posted.

Codes 181 and 189 gone

After a 100 miles of city and highway traffic in the Big Apple, No codes, No CE light, has power and is a delight to drive as a DD. Must be Christmas.

Thanks SHO Forum members for all the help.

I read many posts that SHO members had issues at 3,000-4,000 RPM and usually there is no follow up on how it all turned out. I use the search feature often and think it is a great tool if you know the conclusion and how it all turns out.
BTW I was in bumper to bumper traffic all day yesterday (120 + miles) and not a hiccup.
