With all the work I've done lately to the SHO, I figure it's about time to do some non-maintenance stuff to it. I have a friend who does powdercoating, and I was curious how to prep an intake and valve covers properly so that when I get it back, I can reassemble and install it properly. I don't want to coat surfaces that shouldn't be coated, so I guess I need to know what those are ;)

Also, I've seen pictures of PC intakes with the lettering in a different color from the tanks and I was wondering if that is coated, or just simply painted after the fact? In either case, details would be appreciated :)

Finally, I guess I should ask... what colors would you suggest for an emerald green car? I was thinking green runners and silver tanks, with green valve covers, but I'd love to see or hear suggestions! :)

To prep it take apart the intake and remove and bolts and hoses. You would either need to tell the guy or just mark on the intake. For the lettering those are filled in later on. To powdercoat the letters it takes a lot of work to do those.

That color setup might look good. Might want to play around with it on photoshop.

Hmmmm... yeah, I do like that. I've always wondered why the close up looks green where the further away pictures look more aqua.

So as far as the actual prep work, don't I need to get the original paint off, and then put something over the mating surfaces (tape, etc?) to keep them from being coated? I figure the intake won't want to go back together with the hose clamps and things if it just gets coated all over, since that will make things thicker.
