I believe you can get cans of aircraft stripper at autozone, but you can get spraycans at walmart. Or it's the other way around...

I`ve used both over the years, and i like the spraycan much better. It`s less messy, amd has very good control of the spray.

Why make aluminum wheels look like steel wheels?
If anything, I would think black anodizing with a clear protective coating would look best. At least it wouldn't look like painted steel! Ugh!
I am thinking of removing the paint and polishing the aluminum, then clear coat with Imron or equivalent.

You think my wheels look like steel wheels? Not even close in person, not even close.Threason parts like that arent anodized are pretty simple.Heat and the sun exposure would fade them over time.

Wow...I could see where you'd get that impression from the pic, but you haven't seen the car in person. They are sharp! Actually considered doing this to a set of slicers if I ever get some spares. I may have some better pics of them, but trust me...they look nothing like steel. They're beautiful, especially with the contrast it adds to the car.

YamahaSHO,
YEs they strip and bead blast the aluminum wheels and coat them for 50 a piece. The only problem with this place is there's a 3 week turn around time.
