I just saw this post on the TechSHO mailing list and I figured I would pass on the information for those of you (probably quite a few) that don't subscribe and might be needing a radiator replacement.

The radiator is for the 3.0 Vulcan with HD Cooling, apparently. It is a 3 row radiator, and one of the posts states that a radiator recently purchased at AutoZone even had metal end tanks! It weighs a bit, but might be more durable than the standard style plastic tanks.

GO/DAN part number 433891

The stock overflow resovoir will hang on the screws at the top, but not clip at the bottom. It isn't a real loose fit with the A/C lines though.

As always, your mileage may vary, but I figured some of you would appreciate this tidbit of information especially considering that it has metal endtanks and that could be more reliable.

half-way there, I think.
Corrrection, it's a 2 row radiator. As far as cost goes... The can be had from $130ish to $180ish, a little more than the stock replacement. FWIW.. this mod has been around quite some time and there are a lot of SHO's running around with the double core rads.

From what I read in the post on TechSHO, it appears that an older one had plastic tanks, but one that was recently purchased did not. I'm not sure if that was just a fluke, or if they will come like that now. We could only hope!

A 3.0 Vulcan that needs heavy duty cooling???? That's funny.
Stock Taurus radiators are all very similar. I have the same radiators in both my SHOs and my 87 Wagon,,,with a 3.0 Vulcan.

Yep, if you go to www.kragen.com or www.autozone.com look up a 92 Taurus LX and you will get the option of HD or STD. If you use the 3.8 or SHO motor, you only get one choice. The radiators are all the same dimensions BTW, except of course the 2 row is thicker.
