In viewing various Taurus police vehicles that were sold via auction, I noticed in one pic the car had (what appeared to be) crossover members installed under where the rear seat is located. Were these add on specific to the police version, or are they on my 2015 civilian SHO?

I'm assuming they were there to minimize body flex.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that is police only. They have different rear seats at the bottom I think. You can loosen the rear seat bottom and see if the bars are there or grooves molded into the seat cushion to fit over them is there.

That brace, along with other parts, is part of the rear end collision protection. It is tested to prevent gas tank rupture in a 70-75 mph rear end hit. Installed on police vehicles only.

Believe they are for PD vehicles only. Those bars are what make it hard to put a Taurus cloth back seat in a prior PD vehicle.

PI's do require a special Interceptor bottom seat so it fits around the subframe. Or remove the subframe and install a regular seat. Also, the vinyl flooring is specially molded to fit the subframe. Removing the subframe will leave large bumps in the flooring which will not support weight if stepped on.
