I am posting this for my brother who bought a sho and has had problems with it stalling out. After about a month of driving the car it started to stall out on him and would either start hard or not start until it cooled down. So it figured the crank sensor was bad. He had a guy that he works with scan it and it said it was bad. The guy replaced the sensor and took it out for a test drive. It did the same thing so they took it back to the shop and scanned it again, so they replaced the sensor figuring they maybe got a bad one. Once they replaced the sensor again they took the car for a 40 min drive and all seemed fime. When they got back to the shop and let it idle awhile it stalled again but fired right back up. They again hooked the computer up and these are the codes it is showing right now

116 Coolant temp sensor
114 Air temp sensor
176 O2 sensor
542Fuel pump low speed
557 Fuel pump high speed

I am sure some of these codes are not related to the problem, but just wanted to let you know all the codes just so we dont miss ant possibilities. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance

You will get code 542 when the car stalls. It sounds like the waterpump is leaking on the crank sensor.

is there a loud whining when you turn your key to accessory. listen for it in the gas tank. that will kinda point you in the rite direction. the 02 sensor will either make it run lean or rich.

I think your best bet is the water pump leaking (as per Shotime1994). Look at the weep hole in the casting nose and look for a trail of antifreeze out of it. Very hard to do, but give it a try.

The coolant temp and air temp sensors are out of self test range. Make sure they're plugged in, but this won't cause stalling.

I would disregard the O2 code for the time being, most likely whatever is causing the stalling is causing this code as well.

542, as mentioned, usually comes up when the car stalls. It's defined as "fuel pump circuit failure", not "fuel pump low speed".

557 is defined as fuel pump relay coil resistance failure, or low speed primary fuel pump circuit failure. I'm not sure if this normally comes up when the car stalls or not, perhaps someone else can chime in. However, the fuel pump relay is located in the CCRM. You may want to have them try swapping that out for a known good one (make sure the letter code matches the one you have in there now).

replace the cam sensor and ignition module since you already replaced the crank sensor. the cam position is the most important sensor for ignition. also check your fuel pressure when it dies

False!

Cam position sensor is for the timing and firing of the fuel injectors, not the ignition!
