I beg to differ Chris

even on 240sx's... people would see about 5-6whp gains on 2.5" catbacks while a 10whp gain with a 3" catback meant for turbo cars........

our exhaust system has so many 90 degree bends in it some bigger piping probably doesn't hurt it that much..... a straight piece of 2.5" pipe probably outflows a 3" pipe with 3 90 degree bends.....

at one of my transmission seminars, a speaker said that using a cooler that is routed like a condenser... with a bunch of u bends in it instead of a endtank type design puts a lot more strain on flow capacity.... one of those bends takes as much effort to push fluid through it as it would for a 20 foot section of straight pipe.... you can see why most OEM transmission coolers today now use the endtank design like a radiator.......

If you are noticing tq increase in mid to high range then I would say you made a great choice in your systems design. Not sure if 3" is too large, it may be the limit, but you have two 2.25 pipes merging into a single 3". Choking a twin 2.25 to 2.5 creates backpressure, we want velocity, or maintained velocity...:thumb:

Todd, it was a sarcastic post to this:

Really looks like my 3" setup , great job :salute:

Slap whoever said that 3" is too big for a modded N/A SHO.

More yes then no. MTX cars used a sprung flex joint that allowed the engine to move without trying to torque the whole exhaust system up and down.

That is some nice pipe work, but unless you have solid motor mounts, you really need a well supported flex joint up front, otherwise, expect to see the first fractures forward of that pretty 2>1 Y transition.

im running a solid front mount and some sort of reinforced rear with a stock trans mount.thanks for the suggestion Gary, ill look into getting a flex joint asap.
