Still playing tag you're it with the passenger wheel bearing....but I think today is the day she comes out. ......then I can install the new bearing/hub and reinstall the brakes...then add coolant and burp it...then I'll get some tests.

I'm probably not gonna get one, at least not for awhile. I've purchased 2 very high dollar items recently, so I'm pretty much done with where I'm at. Then of course I woke up to water in my basement yesterday morning so there's that I have to deal with now =(.

Didn’t MrHighCaliber do this? Or was it X-sport? Either way, it has to be beneficial. Removing ANY heat from the intake allows for denser air and more POWA.

I don't remember who it was but one of the threads has a post with home style AC insulation and reflective tape around the pipe that goes through. It looked really well put together so I plan on copying it.

Just waiting on a new brake rotor dust shield for Thursday and then I can install the new wheel bearing and get it back on the road and tested

Well the only positive results I have are when I went to the track I iced the car down with 3 bags of ice for 35 min or so. Turned the car off and on, off and on in the staging lanes. Ran an 11.90. Then hot lapped it, was forced to run left lane only, had to wait for cars including myself to drive into left lane from right and it was slow and steady movement so left the car on. Guy in front me of me screwed up his launch they let him go again...I sat idling, then he screwed his trans up, they cleaned it up as I continued to idle. IAT2 climbed to 147 and stayed there. Ran an 11.67 after the car got hot.

In 3 Dragy runs since then all with driving around for 15 min or so prior and no cool down or anything I ran 11.88, 11.86, and 11.84 which was running last years tune, then two tune revisions. So everything extremely consistent and like I mentioned above...improved time even though the car got much much hotter.

If you consider the above it’s promising to say the least. I don’t think you’ll get a “wow” factor from the phenolic spacer...but excellent consistency

Do you believe this has to do with the phenolic spacer? Or more to do with the massive up front intercooler, damn near freezing the air coming in?

Devil’s advocate of course, is there evidence of all the same modifications (minus the phenolic spacer) making a worse pass?
