Have any of you guys/gals ever delt with Performance Plus in Madison? If so is it a place that you would recommend to others?

Thanks
Andrew

I wanted to take it in to get a definitive answer as to what needs to be done to get the sho back to its old spirited self :). Since I picked it up I have been consulting the all mighty search button to try and troubleshoot as much as I could on my end to try and familiarize myself with this car a bit more. It was also suggested by another member that I "See if Michelle or Adam would want to look over your car with you, they've had quite a few of them and are guru's with these things" :hail: lol. But the shop was just like I said, a way to have someone check her out and tell me what she needs to get better, and knowing what I would need to do would make it easier for me to roll up my sleeves and dive on in :)

Stay away from Courtney Truck in Eden Prairie! I have receipts from the previous owner of my car and he brought it there to get worked and believe me when I tell you they really worked his wallet. They charged him 400.00 just for a stock Luk clutch and that was not even including the labor. They specifically work on Vipers and Porsche's now so they think that they can charge you the same as them.

You're better off finding a Forum member and having them look at it or possibly repairing it for 1/4 of the cost of Courtney Truck..

Just my .02 cents....

thanks for the heads up. its not so much im looking for someone to do it for me, id actually like to try and do most of it myself (well anything that my space and tool collection allows me to attempt lol). i just wanted to take it to a shop that knows shos so i could get a better idea of what needs to be done to it and because of the horror stories ive heard about shops not knowing what to do with these cars and actually making things worse.

thanks

Thanks!

Where are you out of again? I'm sure I could convince Adam to take a look at it otherwise if you are closer to Oconomowoc, I also recommend Dave (white91+ or something similar) on here. He's come over quite a bit to lend a hand and is so helpful and knowledgeable!

Most people are going to tell you to do a full 60k depending on what's been done in the past and if it was done correctly. That's always a good start - especially those rod bearings!

This is a great resource: http://www.shophoenixproject.com/maint.htm

Oconomowoc is actually where I bought the car from lol. Im in Mukwonago, so im like 15min from Milwaukee and bout 20ish from Oconomowoc. I was looking into doing the 60k, but at the same time im debating whether or not to just wait till I get my paws on a 3.2 block and just do the 60k on that while i was swapping all the stuff from the 3.0 onto the 3.2.

Smokinjoe and I are also in Oconomowoc area (I'm actually Pewaukee, and I work in Glendale), and we've got some grease under our fingers...

I actually have off work for the most part this week, got some things to attend to myself on the green machine...

most of the people here are located around the Oconomowoc area and.. so am I. If you need some of the 60k tools I do have a master tool kit for the car.. just no shims.
