I'm wondering do those of you with the performance package find that your track times are better at all against similar builds? I have a 2010 with pp and I'm wondering if there's any advantage. Looking for feedback as have yet to put mine down the track... yet lol

I do not have a PP but, from what I have read, it seems track times (1/4 mile) are actually worse against non-PP. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.

They gotta shift before the end of the run where the non pp is near its shift after the 1/4 mile. Because of the 3.16? final drive ratio, which is slower on mph at a compared rpm to the 2.77? ratio non pp final drive. Not sure if ratio numbers are correct off the top of my mind.
Pp is faster to a top speed limiter but non pp is faster without a top speed limiter

A track i run at is 1/2 mile. Only ever ran the 1/4 mile though but im still pulling after the board till i gotta slow up.

Hitting the next gear in a non pp after the 1/4 mile on a normal track might be scary as there is usually a sand trap there and not enough time to slow up. At the tracks near me at least

Your advantage is better pistons, brakes, and cooling. Your disadvantage in the 1/4 is final drive ratio. All things equal, non PP for the win.

The misfire issue on my SHO was caused by a vaccum hose coming loose on a hot pipe... I took off the top plastic engine cover and put hose clamps on the vaccum lines connecting to the long hot pipe that connects the 2 turbos, and it instantly had my car running like new.

We've done testing with two local customers that were identical modifications (CAI and power pack tune) and found that stock for stock the PP was about 0.3 seconds faster, but once tuned they ran identical times down to the 0.00x time. The PP car has an Airaid, the non-PP car had an EPP. We then switched the intakes for giggles and saw no performance change at the track.

The non-PP customer did end up selling his car a week later, while the PP customer kept going. With further tune revisions and moving the shifting up a few hundred RPM higher (5800 vs 6100) we were able to keep the shifts out longer with a custom rescale of the VCT to hold power up top better, and got him down to 12.3s on E30 stock HPFP and then 12.0s with the addition of a XDI-EVO and GH intercooler.

@FiveLeeter918 that's impressive and really useful feedback about my question. Thanks so much for your input about you're experience with these platforms. I can't wait to start this mod journey and hit my first track!

pistons ?

They have a better top ring, same as cop motor. So they can go from idle or cold motor to full send with no issues. You think cops let their sho engines warm up before going to calls? Heck no, they run out and smash it down the road with a cold moder
