There is absolutely no reason for a different filter,and there is no such thing as a "performance fuel filter".You could completely cut out the filter,but the motor will still only use as much fuel as it needs.

This is a new one for me to see. shrug

Just out of curiosity what is a fuel filter made of and what should the filter element look like? I cut my old one open and it was very dark and had lots of black stuff in it. Is that crud or does the filter have carbon or something in it?

Why would you need a filter that flows 900 gallons of fuel an hour??

Correct me if I'm wrong - but most if not all of the Super SHO's run the stock fuel filter. Some even run a boost a pump inline to augment the 255lphr pump.
