PCV bypass or modifications needed.

I am getting some blue smoke @ 8k , but before calling the rings I wanna make sure its not the pcv sucking up the oil.

Now is it necessary that the PCV needs tho have vacuum , or just a breather is fine to let go the pressure if any.

Some of you know that my pcv hoses and route are different than stock due to the 75mm TB , so maybe my routing is bad or whatever.

I know someone here runs with mustang breathers..... any inputs?

I was looking into it, and I got confused as to the best way to do it.
I'd like to not have to clean my intake again, but I don't want oil leaks because of no pcv.

I have the same issue at high rpm, its my valve seals...I have all the PCV's vented to atmosphere its the only way to go, even the emissions guy didn't say anything about it although it is illegal. I did it to my other car also, you don't want any PCV's going back into the intake unless you like cleaning your intake every 5k miles.

why would you have an oil leak from a bypassed PCV? the only way that'd happen is if you closed off the ports altogether.

Try some Auto-RX first. It's probably carbon packed around your rings that is causing the blue smoke.

Paul, where do you buy Auto-RX? Is it available off-the-shelf anywhere or does it have to be ordered? I've looked around a few stores but haven't seen it anywhere yet.

You have to order it from http://www.auto-rx.com/. Two bottles will do. That, some time and driving like normal.

When I did my full rebuild (about 10k ago) they were all removed and cleaned thoroughly.

Good idea I might give it a try (auto rx). Meanwhile I have made myself a poor man's oil catch can (with a peanut butter plastic jar) , and see what happens.

I didn't think there would be sufficient pcv if the hoses were vented to the atmosphere. I will do that then.
I'm also going to try the auto-rx, even though I have never seen a cleaner engine inside than the sho I have. I have no idea how it is so clean. At least the previous owner changed the oil.
