Patching up dings & scratches?

Is there anybody with advice on patching up a quarter size ding and a bunch of scratches?

Should I use metal filler or bondo, and will it last? What brand do you recommend?

i am not good with body stuff yet, alot of guys here are though. I just know make sure u getall the rust if any out, and alot of sand paper to make it smooth. But i know body guys will hint in for you.

The ding is over the rear quarter panel, and the "paintless guy" recommended I go to a body shop.

well if you want to save $ then do it your self... AS ALWAYS!

Ok:
you will need to 120 grit sand the paint and feather it out where the dent/ nick gash w/e is...
Fiberglass! compound the gap always lay more down than a little because you can sand the high spots down w/ 220 grit ( block sanding pretty much)
after that let it take a good 4 hrs to set and dry
1st tip- IF IT ISNT SANDED IT WONT STICK

ok now after that and you block sand it down. lay a layer of bondo... blue or purple- w/e color the hardner is.
by the way fiberglass is usally yellow in the compound form.

again let it dry... block sand it till its even w/ a higher grit sand paper

w/e color your car is... if its white use a lighter primer so the paint will cover better
if its darker color use a grey darker primer.

get some tap and news papers and tape off what you dont want to spray. spray your primer- if cheap can stuff do 4-5 coats....
block sand it w/ like 500 grit
lay on your paint do 3-4 coats....
clear it!
if it has runs or any flaws in the clear just wheel it out

good luck... it does take a little skill
but hey you learn fast, if you mess up on a step redo it till you get it- its all a certain touch
