So I know that there's a way to put a pin in the parking brake assembly in order to create slack at the caliper, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do so. Does someone have instructions (preferably with pictures) on how to do that? My rear caliper is sticking and desperately needs to be replaced.

Pull the cable and wedge something in place to hold it. Tape the pin in place while you remove the wedge and release against the pin.

Thank you for the diagram and the tip. How hard does the cable need to be pulled?

I've never had to do this. I imagine it's not to hard to pull the cable. You are just pulling against springs at both ends. Pull till it stops.

Think jacking up the car from one side and attaching a ratchet strap from the wheel of another vehicle would work?
