As for color selection, there isn't many as n8 stated. Wander down to Wal-Mart and check it out.

Yep, it's hi-temp rated so no problem on an intake or anything else not exhaust related. Just make sure the clear coat is hi-temp as well.

Hmm... if I had known the black was going to look that nice, i would've done black instead of red. My car is going to be Black and Blue too :thumb:
Yeah wal mart is where i got my paint too :****:
But they didnt have the ground coat, so i had to use more paint to get the full color effect.

I did see green anodized when i was there though, but it might change from store to store.
Did you try baking the intake at all?
I didnt want to use clear because I heard it will turn yellow, but I figured a high temp clear shouldnt do that.
Thats a nice intake though, I like the sparkle bling bling your runners have.

I didn't bake it at all. I figure it'll get enough of that under the hood. I'm going to avoid rubbing/cleaning the paint until it's seen a few heat cycles because it's still kinda soft.

Painters for automotive could tell you best, but when I worked in my uncles welding shop when I was 15, he told me that paint doesn't fully cure for some 60 days after you paint. There may have been some advancements since then, then being 1993, but I dunno:shrug: There is actually a hand glaze made by 3M that is made to wax a newly painted car, it still lets the car's paint breathe so it can still cure, and I tell you what, if you ever need a wax job for a show or something, that is the way to go for sure:thumb: sorry a lil off topic.

what color are you going to paint the valve covers? Gunna paint the coil cover and timing cover?

The cam covers will be the same blue as the runners. I'm still undecided on the coil cover, alternator and timing covers but I'm leaning towards aluminum silver.

Without a baking cycle, paint still takes a long time to fully cure. When I was putting it back togetether, even the slightest bump with a wrench would leave a mark. You just have to be extra careful and take precautions when working on it.
