If it were black and white, Id say its very sexy...White and tan, it looks nice, but not my type of thing...But good job for being different...Id never be able to do something like that...

The bezel is OK, but the steering wheel and air bag area is bleah... Also, repainting the airbag plastic is a no no according to the Helms manual.QUOTE]

I agree. With painting the airbag, it could cause a delay in the plastic breaking in case of a frontal crash. This delay could mean your going into a unfully inflated air bag which in turn, the airbag will continue to inflate throwing your head backwards. This could cause serious, serious neck and upper back injury.

You may be able to get away with no injury, im not for sure, but there is a good reason why auto body shops can get in big trouble for replacing an airbag from a car with different color interior and then dying it to match.

If ICAR were to find out, a shop could very well lose their license or face heavy fines especially if they found that to be at fault for injuring someone in an accident. Just food for thought. :thumb:

hmm well i could always unhook the air bags i mean if i get hit head on i am going to be pretty messed up anyway the reason i had painted the steering wheel bag any way was because the factory paint on it waS scared up pretty bad from the last owners...also i cant really see a thin coat of paint stopping the airbag from inflating on impact

It wont stop it, but it could delay it if its thick enough. How thick it would have to be, who knows.

That airbag may mean the difference between life and death for you. A delay will mean a lot because you could get hit at the wrong time doing more damamge. The timing of the air bag is very precise and a 1/2sec delay will mean a lot.

I wont change my interior color but I do want a newer gen2 one so I will do that swap.

Looks good man, I like it! You need to get some white face guages in there though. That would finish it off I think.

It looks good, Flat white might have been a better choice though. I painted an Intrepid interior white once and it was a pain to keep clean, and it did reflect light horribly. I ended up repainting mine with Krylon H2O to make it easier to clean, but you mustlet it cure for a week or two so it doesn't chip off. Think about accent colors, it'll make it look less like a cover up
