I want to paint the SHO but I can't find anyone in the area that recommends a paint shop. The area is Denver BTW. Anyone know what to look for an a good paint shop. I know you get what you pay for. But, price alone is no guarantee, a crappy shop could charge a lot. So any other indications? Thanks.

My dad owns an autobody shop up here in minnesota. I knowthat everytime he gets done painting a car he takes quiet a few pics and sticks them in a photo album that way he can show customers and so on. So maybe you should ask for pictures of past jobs that have been done. Also take a look around the hop while you are there, check to see if cars sides are wavy(mud), check for "fisheyes" in the paint thats a sign they don't take precations to clean off the area they paint on. Ask them how the work up the sand paper grit scale (what grit they start on and ach one they move to till the final stage before paint). Also price is no indicator of how great the job will be neither is the amount of employee's. My dad is self employed with no help because no one meets his standards. He also usually beats out anyones estimate by a decent amount.

Pricing is definetly not a sign of quality. Its a sign of what kind of quality the shop thinks they do. When I recently got my front bumper cover fixed, I had my friends dad give me an estimate, and he quoted me for aftermarket parts, and still was the highest. He thinks his labor is gold, but personally, he doesn't do that great of work, and he's slow. I ended up paying almost 100 dollars less than what he wanted, and had my car done in two days.

I think your best bet is to ask questions, turn around rates and things like that.
