Well I got the Xpel ultimate self healing film done on the hood,bumper and painted part of the side mirrors of my 16. 10 year warranty against yellowing, staining,cracking,blistering and delaminating. I had a couple stone chips and wished I would have done this earlier since I've had the car since January.

It was 600 dollars and I would do it again. It's a self healing second skin

Wow 600 is a great price. A friend of mine got quoted on his '16 Mustang and it was around 1300 for that + side fenders.

I installed a similar Xpel ultimate package in November of last year on my then new 2015 SHO PP, platinum white. i also did the door handle cups, the rocker panels inside the front doors, the door edges, and the trunk lip. Now at 20k miles: the film edge in 2 of the door cups did not seal well and began to retain dirt and water. One bubbled slightly. Very small rock chip on the leading edge of the hood broke through the film and chipped the paint. The Xpel actually did heal over the chip, leaving of course the paint chip visible. vendor has replaced the door cups, no problem since. No real fix for the chip. thankfully, very small. Great ptoduct.

BlueSHO is absolutely right, that front 1/3 rd or so of the hood is a chip magnet it would seem. That's where the bulk of rock hits have been on all 3 of my Taurus over the years. (2011,2013, 2015) The quote for bumper alone seems a bit high just for that.

You are on the right track, however, I would do mine again without hesitation.

In that picture the front 15" or so of the hood is protected plus the front part of the fenders the bumper and the painted part of the side mirrors. They also threw in door edge protection on all 4 doors
