Paint on top of Powder Coating?

Do any of the powder coating guys here know if paint will stick to powder coating? I've been thinking about having a few things powdercoated, but I'd like to fill in some of the areas with a different color afterwards. Can this be done? Any special methods? I thought about sanding the coating off in those areas, but small recesses would be hard to get to.

You mean like filling in the letters on the intake or something? I'd ask Scott (iselltonsofthings) he's got his own powdercoating business and would be able to tell you.

paint will stick to pretty much any clean surface. I have the letters on my powdercoated intake painted.

As most of you guys know, about a 1/2 year ago I decided to purchase a bunch of equipment to do powder coating work myself.

I'm not running a business. I just do the work out of my garage for mostly myself, family, and friends, "that includes the shoforum members"

When it comes to coloring the inlay, I like to use standard wet paint vs. powder coat. I'm sure if there is someone on this forum that actually runs a large powder coating shop that has been in business for years, they would tell me otherwise. But since I'm quite happy doing small items like brackets, valve covers, and intakes, I just stick to masking off the inlay and using liquid paint.

Here is the website. I added a few more items to the gallery recently. If you notice. Most everything shown are parts for my car :D

Thanks for the replys. I'll be filling in the manifold lettering and a few other things with a contrasting color.
