Hello all

Well, it's time to get my new baby painted, so I wanted to ask a few questions.

Will Gen2 handles fit on a Gen1? The Gen1 handles have that propensity to rust, usually the worst ones are the one that get used most. The Gen2 cars have a rubber gasket behind the handle that should put a stop to that. Can the whole handle go on? The gasket? Make my own?

If gen2 handles won't fit, my paint guy says he can smooth the finish on the handles and paint them (handles are coming off the car). Anyone else done this with success?

I know the foglamp thing has been discussed, but, is there a lamp that looks more or less stock, uses the factory wiring, and actually can make a difference while driving? I don't think I want driving lamps, as I rarely use my high beams...

Any suggestions?

TIA

I got a good one for ya! Have no handles! There is the Honda Accord by my friends work that has no handles! To get in you must use the auto lock switch. This also opens the door about an inch. (Spring Loaded I think) He has 6 buttons on this controller. One for each door, lock, unlock. He has no panic. He said he feels safer with this due to the fact that thiefs will look at that and just scratch their heads. :D First street racing accord I've liked!

Big problem when/if the battery dies,or you lock your keys in the car. You also need to have a mechanical switch hidden somewhere in case this happens. I had no door handles on my '66 Ford F100 Low-rider. It was weird. :)

I don't want to significantly change it from stock. It's a black car, so it would look better with black handles, not grey... I'm actually more concerned about the rust that always forms around the handles (we get a fair bit of snow in Toronto). I think the fact that the handles are right against the paint is 'not a good thing' (hence, it was fixed in later generations-their handles don't rust like the Gen1's).

Anyone tried this?

I've seen this done before, by Doug Lewis at FPS. Don't know the details.
