ok, so i just pulled my power steering pump (holy heck not fun) an was wondering what else i should check while i have room, that back side/corner of the engine is covered in grime and my P/S system has been giving me **** since i got the car, im also all set to flush my transmission, i was going to put a shift kit in but it seems the twEEcer is the route to go, or is their something i should do to the trans while its open?

btw the engine has 300,000 km on it, apparently the previous owner was a ford employee or mechanic but from what i can tell couldn't of cared less for the car :( i swear the plugs i just changed were the originals, the gap turned out to be .08. o h well the whole car cost me 460, i expected some work.

question, can i cap the lines and drive the car for a bit? ie with no power steering system? i want to clean everything up and see if it was the power steering that was making all the mess.

Well, certainly replace the PS pressure line while you are in there. The low pressure line can be rebuilt with stock hose.

A TwEECer can affect the way the trans acts a lot, but it's no substitute for a proper shift kit. Get both the transgo shift kit and the Superior **** Dam. Install those, then tune with the TwEECer, and you will have an ATX that will put 90% of MTX drivers to shame.
