Just because somebody got a good deal on them doesn't necessarily mean they are good.

That's because Exide is the bottom of the barrel and the spiral cells are under patent.

I had one in my rock crawling jeep, but it never put out the amperage that it was rated at...worked fine for me though, and was happy with it on the jeep...also installed one in an aircraft...where again sloshing battery acid is a problem...but never had any issues with sloshing acid on any other vehicles...so I agree that in most apps it is an unnecessary expense.
